Poem

1943

Enclosed by four walls,
Soul in torment,
With cares great and small,
Mentally broken, without prospects.

Perhaps I’ll survive this, but perhaps not.
If I do, then without injuries?
If not, then what dark mortal pain
Awaits me?

Constant fear, craving freedom,
And especially revenge,
An ever stronger, progressively unendurable
Longing for revenge.

Murder, rape, fulminate,
Love, – work
Enclosed by four walls,
Soul in torment.
